Dave Solazzo has been a mainstay of Central New York's music scene for over two decades. Much in demand as a soloist and sideman, Dave has worked with artists from a wide mix of genres, from jazz, fusion, R&B and beyond. He has performed and recorded with major jazz artists like Chuck Mangione, Larry Coryell, Dick Oatts, Joel Frahm and Joe Magnarelli at venues like The Flatiron Room (NYC), Troy Music Hall, the Savannah Jazz Festival and the Syracuse Jazz Fest.
In addition to his work as a sideman, Dave leads his own trio, playing post bebop interpretations of jazz standards and original compositions in the spirit of Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock and Brad Mehldau.
Dave also has a background in radio, working as a DJ at WAER - Jazz 88 in Syracuse from 2002 to 2006 and as co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show The Bald Truth from 2001 to 2009.
Dave was educated at Berklee College of Music and SUNY Purchase College. He has taught jazz piano at Colgate University and jazz history at Cayuga Community College. He currently teaches jazz piano at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
